Curley: Dems at a loss for good ideas after Trump’s win

The Democratic party’s post-election panic has only worsened over the last week. And this panic is spawning all sorts of ideas.

Kamala Harris’s former communications director Jamal Simmons suggested Biden resign the presidency in the next 30 days in order to make Harris the president of the United States.

His reasoning? Simmons cited everything from Harris not having to preside over the Jan. 6 certification of her own defeat, to how her mini-presidency would mess up Trump’s 47-branded merch.

CNN has become a hotbed for these interesting suggestions.

Last week, commentator Bakari Sellers floated the idea of Supreme Court Justice Sonia Sotomayor stepping down and Harris taking her place.

“You have a hell of a vice president right there with a legal pedigree to sit on the Supreme Court and let Republicans go crazy (inaudible) without even mentioning that option,” he told CNN host John Berman.

The left’s push for 70-year-old Justice Sotomayor to resign gained so much steam that NBC’s Kristen Welker broached the subject during an interview with Vermont Senator Bernie Sanders.

“Is that something you would support, do you think she should step down?” Welker asked.

The 83-year-old who just won his reelection to a fourth six-year term wasn’t about to play the age card on Sotomayor, who is 13 years his junior.

“No, I don’t,” Sanders responded before adding that he did not believe it was a sensible approach.

This disarray is telling.

Our brilliant betters in the Democratic party and at the cable news networks are going through the different stages of defeat. Right now they are at the “Throwing Spaghetti At The Wall” phase.

They are still trying to grapple with the fact that Americans rejected their flawless, joyful concert-throwing Kamala.

The loss was such a shock to the system that left-wing party members and talking heads, typically in lockstep with one another, can’t even get on the same page when it comes to the blame game.

Princeton Professor Eddie Glaude told MSNBC’s Stephanie Ruhle that he could not believe voters chose Trump because of their economic concerns.

“I do not believe that,” he whined. “I cannot believe that.”

Glaude finds it much easier to believe that Trump won the biggest popular vote count by a Republican ever because of…racism.

On a different post-election therapy session on MSNBC, professional anti-Trumper George Conway droned on about how Trump voters live in an information bubble.

Those who live in glass bubbles shouldn’t throw stones, George.

Every weekday the women on “The View” descend into new depths of Trump derangement.

Sunny Hostin thinks Trump lost Latinos because of “misogyny and sexism.”

Whoopi Goldberg thinks voters shouldn’t have blamed the Biden-Harris administration for the price of groceries because, “the folks that own the groceries are pigs.”

Duly noted.

Everyone from BlueAnon spokeswoman Rachel Maddow to octogenarian opportunist Bob Woodward have begun revving up their latest version of the Russia Hoax.

After all, third time’s the charm!

The 2024 election of Donald J. Trump is a choose-your-own-adventure of misery for our unbalanced elites.

In lieu of introspection, progressive warriors have instead opted to continue scolding Americans. The thought leaders in the Democratic party are doubling down on their snobbery and condescension while refusing to acknowledge the voters’ repudiation of their entire agenda.

As someone who loves this election cycle’s bright red map and hopes to see more of it going forward, I wholeheartedly support their strategy.
