Men’s hockey: Gophers rally from 0-2 deficit to beat Wisconsin
Jimmy Snuggerud scored twice as the Gophers rallied from a two-goal deficit to beat Wisconsin, 3-2, Friday night at Kohl Center in Madison, Wis.
Ryan Chesley also scored for the Gophers, who won for the seventh consecutive time to improve to 8-1-0 overall and 3-0-0 in the Big Ten Conference.
Quinn Finley and Kyle Kukkonen scored for the Badgers, who fell to 2-7-0 overall, 1-4-0 in the Big Ten.
Nathan Airey stopped 28 of 30 shots on goal to remain unbeaten (5-0-0) for Minnesota.
“We got the win tonight, but we did a lot of things in the game that were self-inflicted wounds and put ourselves on defense far too many times,” Gophers coach Bob Motzko said. “We have to be comfortable playing uncomfortable, and we’re not right now.
“But we got a win out of it, and that’s the darn positive thing out of it.”
The teams meet again Saturday for a 6 p.m. puck drop at Kohl Center.
