Eagan police investigating sexual assault in Lebanon Hills Regional Park
After a woman was attacked and sexually assaulted Thursday morning in Lebanon Hills Regional Park in Eagan, authorities are warning people to be vigilant and travel with someone else while using the trails while they increase police patrols in the area.
The woman was attacked about 11 a.m. while walking alone along the trail system in the park, according to a Friday evening press release from Eagan police.
Authorities said the attack comes two months after a similar incident was reported near the same location at 4:30 p.m. Sept. 7. In that instance, the would-be victim was able to get away.
The incidents are being investigated by the Eagan Police Department and the Dakota County Sheriff’s Office.
“We are asking the public to pay attention to their surroundings and report suspicious activity to 911. You can also contact our tipline at 651-675-5799 or email us at eaganpd@eaganmn.gov.,” Eagan police said Friday.
