Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 10 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Housing and Buildings will hold an oversight hearing on tenant harassment and safety, including discussion of bills related to penalties for unlawful evictions, illegal lockouts, and legislation that would require landlords to provide air conditioning in the summer. Tuesday, Nov. 12 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Subcommittee on Zoning and Franchises will meet regarding land use applications for 962-972 Franklin Avenue, Queens’ La Catrina, Brooklyn Yards, and the Port Authority Bus Terminal Replacement. More here.
Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 9:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Consumer and Worker Protection will meet to vote on a bill related to requirements for the payment of broker fees in real estate transactions. More here.
Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 10:30 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Finance will meet regarding land use applications for 537 West 149th Street and the Met Council Portfolio. More here.
Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 11 a.m.: The NYC Council’s Committee on Land Use will meet regarding land use applications for 962-972 Franklin Avenue and Brooklyn Yards. More here.
Wednesday, Nov. 13, starting at 12 p.m.: Online voting will open for residents at NYCHA’s Hylan Houses in Brooklyn, who are being asked to vote on which funding model they want for their development. Voting will continue through Dec. 12. More here.
Wednesday, Nov. 13 at 6 p.m.: The city’s Department of Housing, Preservation and Development will host an online webinar for homeowners to learn about solar power and other energy efficiency measures. More here.
Thursday, Nov. 14 at 3 p.m.: The Atlantic Yards Community Development Corporation Directors, which oversees construction impacts and quality of life issues for the Atlantic Yards Project in downtown Brooklyn, will meet. More here.
Monday, Nov. 18 at 6 p.m.: Brooklyn State Sen. Roxanne Persaud’s office will hold an online session for constituents to learn about SNAP (food stamp) benefits and the state’s Home Energy Assistance Program (HEAP), which helps homeowners afford their heating bills. More here.
NYC Affordable Housing Lotteries Ending Soon: The New York City Department of Housing Preservation and Development (HPD) are closing lotteries on the following subsidized buildings over the next week.
2339 Nostrand Avenue Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $113,726 – $218,010
218 Front Street Apartments, Brooklyn, for households earning between $106,458 – $218,010
87-34 124th Street Apartments, Queens, for households earning between $112,526 – $218,010
1073 Summit Avenue (Waiting List), Bronx, for households earning between $59,280 – $201,240
