Howie Carr: Nation avoids left-wing ‘Kamalakaze’
I have been so giddy since early Wednesday morning. I’m savoring every nanosecond of this glorious moment in time.
I’m beyond ecstatic that Trump is returning to the White House. But even more than that, I’m profoundly relieved that the Democrat regime is about to be ousted from power.
For days, maybe weeks before the election, I’d been plagued by a deep foreboding, an ominous dread of what I feared lay ahead for America.
I tried not to obsess over my dark apprehensions, my trepidation when I considered the bleak future. Listen, I’m on the radio four hours a day, and self-pity is not good box office, as they used to say in Hollywood.
But I was worried, big-time. Until yesterday, though, I didn’t know how to describe my now-vanished depression.
In the Wall Street Journal, Joseph Epstein diagnosed what I (and probably millions of other Americans) had been going through, until the polls closed Tuesday evening.
Half the country, Epstein wrote, was “appalled by the prospect of what I have come to think of as Kamalakaze – fear of national suicide by left-wing politics.”
That’s it! That is the perfect description of the mental malady that had been afflicting me, and maybe you too.
Kamalakaze – fear of national suicide by left-wing politics.
America was teetering on the edge Nov. 5. But now we’ve stepped back from the abyss – Trump Triumphs Again, as the headline said.
“The relief is profound,” one of my listeners texted me yesterday.
What the Democrats have been doing to the American people these last four years has nothing short of attempted national suicide. That’s what this election was all about – would the adults be able to intervene to pull Uncle Sam off the ledge?
All we asked was to be left alone. But the Democrats couldn’t help themselves.
They were all in on every terrible idea, every insane policy. Defund the police. Mandatory vaccines. They wanted to shut down the economy by banning fossil fuels.
Kamala endorsed free sex-change operations for violent illegal-alien criminals in prison. Every single national Democrat wanted open borders. They said there were 57 genders and they couldn’t get enough of males in women’s sports, and in their bathrooms. I could go on….
This landslide is a very different Trump victory than 2016. That was a beautiful moment too, don’t get me wrong.
But as despicable as Hillary was, she was just hinting around at The Party’s modern agenda. She’d screech about court decisions like Citizens United v. FEC or D.C. v. Heller – if you were paying attention, you understood that she was using shorthand to call for basically abrogating both the First and Second Amendments.
But Hillary didn’t come right out and… say it.
Kamalakaze was loud and proud of Obama’s fundamental Orwellian transformation of America. They didn’t care.
They proved that in 2020 with their 81 million ballots, er, votes, for a corrupt, senile vegetable. They wanted to pack the Supreme Court, add two new rotten boroughs as states, castrate children, abolish the filibuster….
National suicide by left-wing politics.
Last weekend, at the bottom of my “black dog,” as Winston Churchill called his periodic depressions, I picked up one of my dog-eared books about the decline and fall of the Roman Empire.
I read again about how the Biden-like 4th-century emperors caused inflation by “debasing the coinage.” (They would have debased the currency too, like the Democrats have been doing since 2021, except that printing presses hadn’t been invented yet.)
The Romans were invaded by “barbarians,” but at least the Empire forced the Goths, among other savage tribes, to work for a living.
Kamala has waved in millions of illegals from primitive societies, and wouldn’t dream of asking them to work, or even arresting any of them for their horrific crimes.
National suicide. That’s what we were up against. And since the election, the Democrats are just proving Epstein’s point. Have you heard them ranting on state-run media about Trump voters — “uneducated white women” (The View) and “high-school-grad Republicans” (a New York Times columnist from Canada).
The more worthless a college degree becomes, the more the Democrats believe in… credentialism. As if white collars are somehow brighter, and better, than blue collars.
That’s why the Democrats want to give more billions in handouts to college-loan deadbeats, at the expense of veterans and tradesmen.
The only college Democrats despise is the Electoral College.
Beyond all us rubes who didn’t major in gender studies or DEI, Democrats are beyond apoplectic at that majority of Hispanic males who voted for Trump. The Beautiful People are sneering at them as “white Hispanics,” whatever that means.
I’ll leave it to one of the rare sane Democrats, Bronx Rep. Ritchie Torres, to describe this outbreak of Kamalakaze:
“I am going to state the obvious here: Vilifying voters of color as white supremacists will not attract them back to the Democratic party. It will drive them further into Trump’s camp.”
Let’s hope so. But condescension is the go-to m.o. of the modern Democrat:
“Condescension,” Torres continued, “is the most powerful repellent in politics. Voters viscerally resent condescension and will punish you for it at the ballot box.”
And indeed they were punished, thank God.
Seventy-five million voters said, you know, maybe it’s not a good idea to outlaw gas stoves, or air conditioning. And that proposed tax on unrealized capital gains – that crackpot scheme has crashed economies wherever they’ve been tried.
But Bernie and the fake Indian wanted it, so….
The Democrats were all ready to repeal the 2017 Trump income-tax cuts – meaning an increase of $5 trillion in taxes on deplorable Nazi garbage, as they call anyone who works for a living.
The Democrats also campaigned on more drug use, more stoned Americans, more addicted zombies on welfare. Think Question 4 in Massachusetts. Nationally, Kamala wanted to subsidize the weed business, you know, like we subsidized COVID welfare fraud in 2020-21. What could possibly go wrong?
Kamalakaze – national suicide by left-wing politics.
I feel much better now. I’m in recovery, Doc. One day at a time, baby.
We talked ourselves off the ledge. Despite the landslide, though, it was a close-run thing, as the Duke of Wellington said of Waterloo.
But whatever happens next, remember what it says on the Samaritans’ sign.
Suicide is not the answer.
I beat Kamalakaze, 75 million of us beat it, and you can do it too.
Just keep voting Republican.
