Turkiye October 2024: Volkswagen (+79.9%), For (+69%) shine, Peugeot 408 up to #11

Turkiye is the only market in the world where the Peugeot 408 is successful.

97,274 new light vehicles hit Turkish roads in October, a -4% year-on-year decline but still the 2nd biggest October volume in history. As a result, the year-to-date volume is 947,166, off -1.2% on the same period in 2023 and here to the 2nd highest ever. Renault (-21.2%) repeats at #1 despite falling way faster than the market. In contrast Volkswagen (+79.9%) and Ford (+69%) skyrocket to 10.3% and 9% share respectively vs. 7.7% and 8.2% year-to-date. Once again Fiat (-46.3%) implodes, now down to #4 and 8.8% share vs. 11.6% so far this year where it keeps the lead. Skoda (+44%), Peugeot (+34.9%) and Opel (+15.7%) defy the negative market with double-digit gains, with Hyundai (+9.8%) also strong at #6.

Model-wise, the Renault Clio repeats at #1 ahead of the Fiat Egea Sedan which however remains #1 year-to-date by far. The Togg T10X is up to #3, its highest ranking since last May when it hit #2. The Renault Megane Sedan drops to #4 while the VW Taigo surges from outside the September Top 40 directly into 5th place. It distances the Toyota Corolla Sedan and Estate, the Fiat Egea Cross and Hyundai i20. Notice also the Dacia Sandero Stepway up to #9 vs. #20 year-to-date, the Peugeot 408 soaring to #11, by far its best ranking in the world and also what is believed to be a new Turkish ranking record, vs. #28 year-to-date, the VW T-Roc up to #13 vs. vs. #31 and the Skoda Superb up to #14 vs. #40. The new Renault Duster is up to #16.

One year ago: Turkiye October 2023: Market up 55.4% to yet another record, Togg up to #11
