Mounds View elections: Smith and Meehlhause win city council race

Kathryn Smith and Gary Meehlhause won seats on the city council of Mounds View in the Tuesday, Nov. 5, 2024, election with 4 out of 4 precincts reporting.

Smith received 31% of the vote while Meehlhause received 24%.

During the campaign, Smith said she hopes to keep taxes down, fill vacant commercial properties with businesses and make the city website user-friendly, according to answers to a Pioneer Press candidate questionnaire.

Meehlhause did not respond to the questionnaire.
