Apple Valley elections: Grendahl and Hiebert elected to city council

Ruth Grendahl and Lisa Hiebert won seats on the Apple Valley city council with 16 out of 16 precincts reporting.

The incumbent Grendahl received 26% of the vote while Hiebert received 29% of the vote, Jon Rechtzigel received 22% of the vote and Pat Benner received 20% of the vote.

Grendahl, who has been on the council since 1997, wants to ensure residents’ taxpayer dollars and financial operations maintain stable while also wanting to work on improving infrastructure and sustainability efforts. Hiebert wants to enhance local parks and facilities and to increase housing options.
