Red Sox lineups: Tyler O’Neill returns for penultimate game
Red Sox outfielder Tyler O’Neill is back in the lineup for the season’s penultimate game.
O’Neill, who has battled back tightness over the past week or so, is in the lineup for the first time since Wednesday. He will start at left field and bat cleanup against the Tampa Bay Rays as the Red Sox look to clinch at least a .500 record and a third place finish in the AL East.
Jarren Duran, Trevor Story and Triston Casas will make up the top of the order, and rookie Mickey Gasper — who is still seeking his first big league hit — will bat fifth.
Kutter Crawford will make his 33rd and final start of the season, making him the fifth Red Sox pitcher to start that many games in a season since 2014. Crawford also only needs to record two outs to hit 180 innings for the first time in his career.
Crawford (9-15, 4.17) will face off against Rays starter Shane Baz (3-3, 3.07).
