High school football: St. Thomas Academy uses all three phases to down Mahtomedi

St. Thomas Academy 52, Mahtomedi 7: The Cadets (3-1) got it done in all three phases Friday. On offense, quarterback Chase Young ran for a pair of scores and threw for another. On special teams, Finn Benz returned a punt 75 yards for a touchdown. And, on defense — on top of holding the Zephyrs (1-3) scoreless for the majority of the contest — Andrew Most returned a fumble 38 yards for a touchdown.

Roseville 21, Park 18: Javon Minor continues to will the Roseville football program’s turnaround with his legs. The senior running back toted the ball 33 times for 186 yards and two scores Friday. That’s back-to-back wins for the Raiders (2-2), who have multiple wins in a campaign for the first time since 2020.

Miskir Esayas threw three touchdown passes for Park (1-3).

Forest Lake 28, White Bear Lake 21: Connor Johnson ran for a touchdown and threw for another for the Rangers (2-2), who also had 80-plus yard touchdown runs from both Kevin Ndirangu and Mack Jurkovich.

Rithy Sain had a pair of long receiving touchdowns for White Bear Lake (0-4).

Two Rivers 34, Bloomington Kennedy 14: Crew Penny ran in a pair of touchdowns, while Drew Altavilla tacked on two passing touchdowns for Two Rivers, who stayed undefeated on the campaign (4-0).

Hastings 30, Bloomington Jefferson 15: Lane Hoffman ran in two touchdowns for the Raiders (2-2), who now have back to back wins. Hastings led 21-0 after the first frame.
