Alvin Campbell, alleged serial rapist and brother of Massachusetts AG, reportedly busted for drugs during ‘major institutional shakedown’ in jail

Alvin Campbell, an alleged serial rapist and the brother of the Massachusetts attorney general, was reportedly busted for drugs during a recent “major institutional shakedown” in jail.

Campbell, who’s accused of raping nine women in Boston and a long list of other charges, now faces new charges as he’s locked up in the Suffolk County Nashua Street Jail before his trial scheduled for later this year.

Cocaine was reportedly found in his deodorant container during a cell check this summer.

“… As part of a major institutional shakedown, Detainee (DT) Alvin Campbell was found to be in possession of an unauthorized controlled substance believed to be cocaine,” the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Investigative Division wrote in a memo about Campbell.

“The large rock like substance was found concealed in DT Campbell’s deodorant container,” the memo reads. “A TruNarc scan of the item revealed a presumptive positive for ‘Cocaine.’ ”

The evidence bag with the item was transported to the Massachusetts State Crime Lab for further testing.

Campbell has been charged with possession of a Class B substance (cocaine), and disturbing a correctional facility.

“I reviewed a sampling of calls for DT Campbell using his account/pin# as well as ran several of the numbers called specifically those surrounding the time frame of the incident,” the Suffolk County Sheriff’s Investigative Division memo reads. “DT Campbell did mention that he had been written up for contraband and stated that he had reached out to his Attorney regarding these allegations.”

He’s expected to arraigned next month on the new charges.

Meanwhile, Campbell’s trial for the nine alleged rapes and a total of 32 charges is scheduled for December. The charges include multiple counts each of rape, aggravated rape, assault and battery, indecent assault, photographing an unsuspecting nude person, and a single account of assault to rape.

Suffolk DA prosecutors accuse Campbell of posing as a rideshare driver to lure in drunk women before violently attacking them in his car.

Prosecutors have said Campbell has a long rap sheet of serious charges and often misrepresents himself — as a ride-share driver or bar bouncer — and then allegedly finding blackout-drunk women to prey upon.

Campbell is the elder brother of Massachusetts Attorney General Andrea Campbell, who at the time of his arrest in 2020 was the Boston City Council president.
