Boston ICE agents corner two border-crossers with rape charges, one rape of a pregnant woman
A Haitian national charged with the aggravated rape of a pregnant woman and a Brazilian illegal immigrant wanted for alleged sexual assault were taken into custody on the same day this week by ICE agents.
Both border-crossers are accused of preying on their alleged victims while living under the radar in Massachusetts.
Marc Kervens Beauvais, 34, of Haiti, and Jackson Bento-Pinheiro, 34, of Brazil, were arrested by Boston-based immigration agents Tuesday, Enforcement and Removal Operations (ERO) said.
“Marc Kervens Beauvais is charged with committing unspeakable acts against a pregnant woman in Massachusetts,” said ERO Boston Field Office Director Todd M. Lyons. “We simply can not allow anyone that poses such a threat to prey upon the residents of our communities.”
Beauvais crossed illegally into the U.S. in 2021 near Del Rio, Texas, immigration officials say.
Peabody Police arrested him July 31 for aggravated rape, two counts of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon on a pregnant victim and attempt to commit a crime. ERO moved to seize him and on Tuesday did just that after Peabody District Court “honored the immigration detainer,” ICE said.
Bento-Pinheiro also illegally crossed the border in the summer of 2021 near San Ysidro, Calif.
Wakefield Police arrested him Tuesday on a warrant for assault to rape, indecent assault and battery on a victim over 14 and domestic assault and battery. Officers from ERO Boston arrested him in Wakefield later the same day.
“ERO Boston will continue our mission of prioritizing public safety by aggressively apprehending and removing egregious noncitizen offenders from New England,” Lyons added.
These latest two arrests come right after ICE arrested Cory Alvarez, a Haitian national accused of raping a 15-year-old girl at a Rockland migrant hotel.
Alvarez, 26, was free on $500 bail after a Plymouth court did not honor a federal immigration detainer. Immigration and Customs Enforcement officers now have him in custody after arresting him outside his Brockton home Monday.
“He will have his day in court,” Lyons said earlier this week, “but we cannot allow any significant noncitizen threat to the children of our communities to potentially reoffend.”
