You burrata try this luscious Italian cheese
If you have not tried burrata cheese, you are missing out. Appearing on many restaurant menus as a starter, burrata is a cow’s milk cheese made from mozzarella and has a very buttery taste so hence the name, burrata from the word burro for butter.
Formed into a smooth ball, the center of the cheese is stuffed with stringy shards of mozzarella called stracciatella and a few drops of cream. This delicate cheese is a specialty of southern Italy and as the Italians say should be consumed da giornata, on the day it is made,
Enjoyed on its own with extra virgin olive oil and crusty bread or accompanied by fruit or a drizzle of balsamic vinegar, it is light and refreshing and not to be missed. Try pairing it with avocado halves stuffed with fresh peaches. Fantastico!
