Turkiye April 2024: Record streak snapped with sales off -22.3%, Togg T10X up to #2

The Togg T10X is the 2nd best-selling car in Turkiye in April.

After 15 consecutive months of record performances, the Turkish new car market falls hard in April at -22.3% to 75,919. The year-to-date volume remains in positive at +11.3% to a record 371,438 sales. Brand leaders Fiat (-43.7%) and Renault (-44.9%) both implode and see their market share thin down to 12.4% and 9% respectively. Volkswagen (-7.4%) and Ford (-14.8%) resist to complete the Top 4. Chery (+279.4%) surges on launch year-ago figures, April 2023 being only its 2nd month in the Turkish market. At 7% it reached its 2nd highest ever share below the 7.1% it held back last August. Hyundai (+1%) also defies the negative market at #6 vs. #9 year-to-date. Local EV maker Togg shoots up 11 spots on March to return inside the Top 10 at a record 9th place with an all-time high 4% share.

Over in the models lane (Passenger Cars only), the Fiat Egea Sedan remains solidly in the lead with 7% share. The performance of the month is delivered by the Togg T10X up 23 ranks on March to a record 2nd place, eclipsing its previous best of #3 established last December. The VW Tiguan lands back in the ranking directly at #3 above the Renault Clio down two spots on last month to #4 and the Hyundai i20 up 13 to #5. Chery places three models inside the Top 8, the most of any brand. The Tiggo 7 Pro stays at #5, the Omoda 5 is up 9 ranks to #6 and the Tiggo 8 Pro up one to #8. The Dacia Duster and Toyota Corolla Sedan round out the Top 10.
