GIRLS BASKETBALL

In nonleague play, freshman Rowan Murphy put in 21 points as Greater Lowell (1-2) cruised to a 53-15 victory over Notre Dame of Tyngsboro. … Reese Matela recorded 23 points and 12 rebounds, and Charleigh Green chipped in with eight points as St. Mary’s of Lynn (5-0) came back to defeat Springfield International 49-39.

Sophomores Melanie Simmons (12 points) and Nora Simpson (10 points, four steals) guided Arlington Catholic (1-1) as a 20-point third quarter enabled the Cougars to pull away in a 50-30 win over Lowell Catholic. … Cecilia Kay collected 18 points, 15 rebounds and five blocks, and Celia Neilson finished with 12 points, four assists and eight steals as Bishop Fenwick (3-0) bested Newburyport, 56-32.
