Mills man, woman found dead with apparent gunshot wounds
Two people in their 20s were found dead with apparent gunshot wounds in Millis on Sunday morning, according to the Norfolk District Attorney’s office.
Officials said that a Mills town worker was operating on a remote dirt roadway when he found the man and woman near their vehicle this morning. The worker notified Mills Police after 9 a.m. who appeared at the crime scene and called in the state’s homicide unit assigned to the DA’s office, officials said.
Later Sunday nigh, the couple were identified as Michael Fischella, 32, and Tanaia Wilkinson, 25. Both resided at 67 Curve Street in Millis, according to the DA.
A gun was located below the man’s body and the investigation remains ongoing, according to officials.
“An incident like this will obviously be upsetting to residents, but the information available at this time does not suggest any ongoing threat or danger to Millis residents associated with this incident,” Mills Police Chief Christopher Soffayer said in a statement.
Chemists from the State Crime Lab along with speciailzed State Police Crime Scene Services also responded to aid in the investigation.
“We are still very early in this investigation and there is much to be done, but we do not yet have evidence of third-party involvement,” District Attorney Michael Morrissey said. “The Medical Examiner may be able to provide information on the cause and manner of death in the next 24 to 48 hours.”
