Trump says path to victory is ‘swamp them’ on election day
Will Donald Trump draft Nikki Haley as his VP?
Will President Biden make it to the general election?
Will he shut down social media if elected?
The last question is “misinformation and disinformation,” Trump said Friday on Herald columnist Howie Carr’s radio show.
As for Haley as a running mate, Trump said it’s too early in the campaign cycle to consider.
“I’m not even thinking about that,” he said, but when pressed, he added: “Well, look, I think it’s unlikely. Some things we have in common, some things we don’t.”
Trump will be in New Hampshire on Saturday at the University of New Hampshire’s Whittemore Center Arena at 2 p.m.
Trump hits the Granite State with a commanding lead in the polls, both in the first primary state and nationally. He’s up by more than 50 points on the GOP field and is ahead of Biden in a potential face-to-face rematch.
Haley and Florida Gov. Ron DeSantis are in a virtual tie in New Hampshire — or Haley is up by a few points — with Chris Christie behind both and Vivek Ramaswamy and others falling off the map. The NH primary is Jan. 23.
The Iowa caucuses are set for Jan. 15. Trump is leading there with DeSantis in the teens.
Trump told Howie the best bet for his candidacy in the Nov. 5 is to “swamp them.”
In recent polls Trump beats Biden anywhere from 8 to 4 points, but it’s still early with more court cases on his part and talk of impeachment hearings on Biden’s side.
Still, Trump said he’s not sure Biden will make it to November.
“It’s more unlikely than not. I see the answers he gives or doesn’t give,” Trump said, “and I don’t see it.”
Biden said on a recent stop to Massachussetts he is running and a rematch with Trump is the very reason why he’s going to seek re-election — even in his 80s.
“If Trump wasn’t running, I’m not sure I’d be running. But we cannot let him win,” Biden said at a fundraiser at a private home in Weston.
