Lamborghini Showcases one-off Revuelto ‘Opera Unica’ at Art Basel Miami Beach 2023

Automobili Lamborghini has marked the occasion of its 60th anniversary by intertwining automotive excellence with artistic expression. The culmination of this celebration is the unveiling of the Revuelto ‘Opera Unica,’ a one-of-a-kind masterpiece, at the prestigious Art Basel Miami Beach 2023.

The Revuelto ‘Opera Unica’ represents a highly customized iteration of the brand’s groundbreaking Revuelto model, which is Lamborghini’s inaugural V12 hybrid plug-in HPEV (High Performance Electrified Vehicle). This artistic creation is a result of the collaborative efforts of Centro Stile’s artistic concept and development, under the guidance of Lamborghini’s Ad Personam team.

Launched earlier in the year, the Revuelto stands out with its revolutionary V12 hybrid plug-in technology, offering unparalleled performance, sportiness, and driving pleasure. Boasting 1,001 horsepower, the Revuelto excels on both roads and tracks, featuring innovative design elements, maximum-efficiency aerodynamics, and a novel carbon frame concept.

Stephan Winkelmann, Chairman and CEO of Automobili Lamborghini, expresses the significance of showcasing this unique creation in the U.S., particularly at Art Basel Miami Beach. He emphasizes the Revuelto’s status as the fastest, most technologically advanced, and customizable Lamborghini in history. The V12 engine, an iconic element in Lamborghini’s history, takes center stage in this ‘Opera Unica,’ showcasing the brand’s commitment to pushing the boundaries of personalization through its Ad Personam program.

The exterior of the Revuelto ‘Opera Unica’ is a testament to Lamborghini’s pioneering role in innovative color applications. Hand-painted with meticulous attention to detail, the exterior transitions from Viola Pasifae to Nero Helene, featuring brushstroke details in warm and cool colors. This labor-intensive process adds 76 hours of development and testing, with a total execution time of 435 hours. A discreet 60th-anniversary logo graces the car’s bonnet, paying homage to Lamborghini’s rich heritage.

Inside, the artistic journey continues with a unique and asymmetric design that plays with colors. The interior required an additional 220 hours to complete, showcasing a two-tone leather ensemble in Nero Ade and Viola Acutus. The 60th-anniversary logo is intricately embroidered on seat backrests, door inserts, and headliners, using matching warm and cool colors from the exterior. Even the start and stop cover receives special attention with shaded brushstroke colors.

Mitja Borkert, Automobili Lamborghini’s Design Director, describes the inspiration behind this unique livery as a desire to create something purely artistic, akin to using the Revuelto as a canvas. The hand-painted exterior, with dynamic brushstrokes, accentuates the car’s aerodynamics and speed.

The grand unveiling of the Revuelto ‘Opera Unica’ takes place at an exclusive launch event in Miami Beach, featuring a curated selection of artwork commissioned by Automobili Lamborghini America dealers. This event serves as a fitting tribute to the brand’s 60th anniversary, showcasing the seamless fusion of automotive innovation and artistic brilliance that defines Lamborghini’s legacy.
