Burnsville man identified as Minneapolis homicide victim

The medical examiner identified on Tuesday a man killed in a Minneapolis shooting as a 34-year-old from Burnsville.

Darius Renee Wilson died at East Lake Street and 12th Avenue South just after midnight on Monday. He was shot in the chest and was found by police on the sidewalk.

A woman in her 40s had also been shot and was taken to Hennepin Healthcare with injuries that police said appeared non-life-threatening.

Police said Monday there were several people outside and in the area when the shots were fired.

No one was under arrest as of Tuesday morning, according to Minneapolis police. Investigators are working to determine who was involved and what led to the shooting.
