Marlboro murder-suicide under investigation: Man reportedly kills woman before shooting himself

Police are investigating an apparent murder-suicide in Marlboro after a man reportedly killed a woman before shooting himself Wednesday morning.

The 29-year-old man and 28-year-old woman had been in a dating relationship, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office and Marlboro Police.

Police received a report of a shooting at a Rice Street residence at around 10:05 a.m. on Wednesday.

When officers arrived at the scene, they found two females and a child outside who told police that their female roommate had been shot inside the home.

Then once inside, officers found the woman and the man. They were both dead from apparent gunshot wounds.

Police in their preliminary investigation learned that the man had allegedly threatened the woman at his home Tuesday night.

The woman returned to her Rice Street residence Wednesday morning.

Then shortly before 10:05 a.m., the man reportedly came to the woman’s home, breaking in through a window.

Once inside the residence, the man again reportedly threatened the woman before shooting her and then himself, police said.

The murder-suicide is an open and ongoing investigation being conducted by the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office, Massachusetts State Police detectives assigned to the District Attorney’s Office and Marlboro Police.
