Ravens CB Marlon Humphrey, LT Ronnie Stanley exit with injuries vs. Browns
The Ravens lost two key starters to injury Sunday against the Cleveland Browns.
Cornerback Marlon Humphrey exited with an ankle injury in the third quarter, while left tackle Ronnie Stanley suffered a knee injury in the fourth. Both were ruled questionable to return.
Humphrey was injured after a short pass over the middle to Browns tight end David Njoku midway through the third quarter. He remained down on the field but was sitting up as trainers tended to him. Brandon Stephens and Rock Ya-Sin lined up as the outside corners with Humphrey sidelined.
A two-time Pro Bowl selection, Humphrey missed the first four games of the season while recovering from mid-August foot surgery. He also popped up on the injury report Thursday with a hamstring injury and was limited in practice, but started Sunday despite being listed as questionable to play.
Stanley, meanwhile, got his right leg rolled up on early in the fourth quarter. The 2019 All-Pro pounded the turf in pain before being tended to by trainers and was replaced by second-year lineman Daniel Faalele. Stanley went to the blue medical tent to be evaluated before heading to the locker room.
Since suffering a fractured ankle in November 2020, Stanley has struggled to stay on the field, playing just 18 games over the past three seasons. The 2016 first-round draft pick signed a five-year, $98.75 million contract just days before his 2020 injury.
Right guard Kevin Zeitler also limped off late in the fourth quarter and was replaced by Ben Cleveland. The Ravens did not immediately announce Zeitler’s status.
Rookie linebacker Trenton Simpson, a third-round draft pick, was also injured during the first quarter while covering a kick return. He was evaluated for a concussion and was later ruled out for the game.
