Saints at Vikings: What to know ahead of Week 10 matchup

Here are some things to know when the Vikings play host to the New Orleans Saints on Sunday:

Saints at Vikings
When: 12 p.m. Sunday
Where: U.S. Bank Stadium
TV: FOX
Radio: KFAN
Line: Saints – 3
Over/Under: 40.5

Keys for the Vikings

— This will be the first time that journeyman quarterback Josh Dobbs takes the field since his incredible debut performance for the Vikings last Sunday. He will have more knowledge of the offense this time around and should be able to create some positive plays. It’s on head coach Kevin O’Connell to put him in a position to succeed. .

— There should be a chance for the Vikings defense to get after Saints quarterback Derek Carr. If he has time to operate, Carr has proven to be someone who can slice and dice a secondary. If there is pressure in his face, however, Carr is liable to turn into a pumpkin right before our very eyes.

Keys for the Saints

— It’s likely that Saints head coach Dennis Allen will make it a point of emphasis to hit Dobbs whenever he breaks the pocket. They cannot afford to let Dobbs get his legs going. If the Saints can turn him into a one-dimensional player, they will give themselves a much better chance.

— The combination of skill position players might favor the Saints this weekend. They have running back Alvin Kamara, with receivers Chris Olave and Michael Thomas, and jack-of-all-trades Taysom Hill. They need to use that to their advantage against the Vikings.
