FOXBORO — Patriots cornerback J.C. Jackson was absent for the start of practice Wednesday, the team’s first ahead of this weekend’s game against the Colts in Germany.

Jackson is not expected to travel with the team after missing curfew last weekend before the Pats’ loss to Washington. Jackson’s inconsistent play has resulted in several critical completions for recent opponents, including two touchdowns he allowed in a loss at Miami two weeks ago. The coaching staff benched Jackson and fellow corner Jack Jones to start last Sunday’s game versus Washington.
Pats offensive tackle Trent Brown also missed Wednesday’s practice. Brown sat out last weekend’s game with knee and ankle injuries. His status for this weekend’s game is unclear.
Veteran wideout DeVante Parker wore a red non-contact jersey Wednesday as he recovers from a concussion.
The Patriots will release their first injury report Wednesday evening.
