Patriots-Commanders injury report: Trent Brown, DeVante Parker miss second straight practice Thursday

Boutte, a sixth-round pick last April, has been a healthy scratch every week since the Pats’ season opener. During that 25-20 loss to the Eagles, Boutte didn’t register a catch despite seeing four targets. Previously, he flashed skills as a possession receiver with plus body control and some burst in the preseason.

On Thursday, Boutte indicated to reporters he would play this weekend, saying “my name’s being called.” Last weekend, he fell behind every receiver on the depth chart except for Tyquan Thornton, who was also a healthy scratch at Miami. Thornton is also expected to suit up Sunday, pending the availability of veteran starter DeVante Parker (concussion).

Extra points

Sunday’s weather forecast is calling for temperatures in the mid-50s with minimal wind at kickoff … ESPN NFL analyst Dan Orlovsky said last week he texts with Mac Jones about Jones’ footwork and game performance. This week, Jones was asked what type of advice Orlovsky’s given him. He dodged, saying: “A lot of people text me throughout the week. Sometimes it’s hard to get back. I don’t talk to everybody. But, I do see some texts from people, and I always take advice, whether it’s players or coaches, or whatever.” … The Patriots have beaten the Commanders in their last four meetings. Washington’s most recent win came in Sept. 2003, the Pats’ last loss before ripping off an NFL record 21 straight wins … Patriots practice-squad defensive lineman Will Bradley-King is the only player on the team who once played in Washington. The only ex-Patriots on the Commanders’ roster are backup quarterback Jacoby Brissett and linebacker De’Jon Harris.
