McLaren Celebrates 60th Anniversary with Special Personalization Options of New Vehicles

McLaren is celebrating 60 years, and to help mark this significant milestone, the iconic British automaker is unveiling a range of special personalization options, paying homage to McLaren’s storied racing history, most notably its triumph in motorsport’s unofficial ‘Triple Crown,’ and are available for all newly ordered series-production models.

The ‘Triple Crown’ achievement is a crowning glory in McLaren’s illustrious history, representing victories in three of the most prestigious races in motorsport. The journey began in 1974 when McLaren secured its maiden victory at the Indianapolis 500. A decade later, in 1984, the Monaco Grand Prix was conquered, marking a record-breaking 15th win for McLaren, unmatched by any other Formula 1 constructor. Finally, in 1995, McLaren’s F1 GTR roared to victory at the iconic 24 Hours of Le Mans, sealing the Triple Crown in the brand’s very first entry into the grueling endurance race.

As a tribute to these historic triumphs, McLaren is offering a selection of three exclusive exterior paint colors, each a nod to the iconic cars that clinched the Triple Crown. Indy Orange, a vibrant solid color, recreates the vivid orange hue of the 1974 Indy 500-winning M16D. Monaco White pays homage to the predominantly white shade of the 1984 Monaco Grand Prix-winning MP4/2. Completing this triumphant trio is Le Mans Grey, a metallic option that mirrors the victorious F1 GTR from the 1995 24 Hours of Le Mans.

In addition to these special paint options, the 750S model can be further enhanced with the exclusive ‘Triple Crown Stripes.’ These painted stripes grace the center of the bonnet and are replicated on the rear wing. Available for 60 lucky customers, each representing a year of McLaren’s existence, this unique feature incorporates a McLaren Triple Crown logo at the front and intricate artwork displaying each year of victory, ’74, ’84, and ’95, on the rear wing underside.

Further exterior enhancements include two new brake caliper colors, Indy Blue and Le Mans Gold, inspired by the Indianapolis 500 win and the legendary McLaren F1 GTR, respectively. For those opting for gloss carbon fiber door mirrors, they can also add the 60th Anniversary ‘Speedy Kiwi’ logo in either Orange or Silver, matching the exclusive dedication plaque created for vehicles equipped with these special options.

The celebrations extend to the interior with a painted steering wheel center line marker finished in Indy Orange for cars equipped with a carbon fiber steering wheel. This can be complemented by extended carbon fiber painted gearshift paddles featuring stripes in the McLaren Triple Crown colors.

Every car ordered with any of the 60th Anniversary options will be adorned with a brushed aluminum bespoke dedication plaque, featuring a 60th Anniversary logo in McLaren Orange, incorporating a ’60’ within the iconic McLaren ‘Speedy Kiwi’ badge. For the fortunate few who opt for the Triple Crown Stripes on the 750S model, the dedication plaque will proudly bear a “1 of 60” marking, highlighting the exclusivity of this specification.

These special 60th Anniversary options are available for order across McLaren’s series-production cars for a year, starting from November 2023. McLaren enthusiasts and collectors can explore the possibilities at a McLaren retailer or through the company’s official channels, ensuring that the celebration of this iconic brand’s 60 years continues in style.
