Chevrolet Blazer EV is the 2024 MotorTrend SUV of the Year

The all-new Chevrolet Blazer EV has been awarded the highly esteemed title of “SUV of the Year” for 2024 by MotorTrend, earning the coveted “Golden Calipers” accolade. In a fierce competition with 40 other SUV models, the Blazer EV emerged as the victor, and MotorTrend’s decision is grounded in the vehicle’s cutting-edge technology, dynamic design, and unprecedented powertrain options. This recognition underscores Chevrolet’s commitment to delivering innovative electric vehicles, a tradition that started with the Chevrolet Bolt EV, the 2017 Car of the Year winner, according to MotorTrend.

Ed Loh, Head of Editorial at MotorTrend Group, commended Chevrolet’s achievement, stating, “Chevrolet has truly nailed the design and functionality with the Blazer EV, which looks and operates just as an industry-leading all-electric SUV should. The Chevy Blazer EV offers an effortless driving experience, seamlessly integrates into your lifestyle and boasts user-friendliness that’s hard to match.”

The “SUV of the Year” title is an exclusive honor, reserved for vehicles that exemplify the highest standards of product excellence over the past 25 years. The Blazer EV won over the judges through its outstanding performance in six key criteria, which included safety, design innovation, and its ability to fulfill its intended function. This solidified the Blazer EV’s reputation as a comprehensive package, as acknowledged by MotorTrend’s discerning panel of experts.

Scott Bell, Vice President of Chevrolet, expressed the company’s enthusiasm and gratitude for receiving this prestigious recognition, saying, “We are excited and honored to receive this recognition for the Blazer EV. This vehicle takes convenience and customer choice to the next level, a major step in delivering on Chevrolet’s promise to provide an EV for everyone.”

The Chevrolet Blazer EV offers a range of trims, including LT, RS, and the brand’s first-ever electric SS. It features a 17.7-inch-diagonal customizable infotainment touchscreen, available front-, rear-, and all-wheel drive configurations. Moreover, it has received certification from the EPA, boasting an impressive 324 miles on a full charge for the rear-wheel-drive version.

For those interested in purchasing a Blazer EV, Chevrolet recommends contacting their local Chevy EV dealer. The initial launch edition, the Blazer EV RS AWD, is currently available at a price of $60,215, excluding any applicable federal tax credits. Pricing for the remaining Blazer EV trims and drivetrains, including the front-wheel-drive variants of the RS and LT, will be announced as their launch dates in 2024 draw nearer. Customer orders for these trims will also be accepted closer to their respective launch dates. Chevrolet’s dedication to providing accessible and innovative electric vehicles is reflected in the Blazer EV’s broad range of offerings, designed to cater to diverse customer preferences and needs.
