Boston police officer hurt, suspect shot in Jamaica Plain
A Boston police officer investigating a stolen car report was struck by a man in the car in the Forest Hills MBTA station parking lot, the police commissioner and DA reported.
Both the officer and suspect were injured in the lethal confrontation — with the police officer in “stable” condition and the suspect “critical.”
“We wish all those involved a speedy recovery,” said police Commissioner Michael Cox, “and anyone with information should call us.”
Cox said as police approached the vehicle, “the suspect operating the motor vehicle struck the officer.” That’s when the officer “discharged his weapon, striking the operator of the motor vehicle.”
