Twins recall right-hander Josh Winder
The Twins on Friday recalled right-handed pitcher Josh Winder from Class AAA St. Paul and re-assigned David Festa to the Saints before starting a three-game series against the Houston Astros at Target Field.
Winder, 27, is 2-0 with a 4.78 earned-run average with 28 strikeouts in 26 1/3 innings in St. Paul this season. He pitched in 23 games for the Twins last season (2-1, 4.15 ERA, 1 save).
Festa, the Twins’ top pitching prospect, made two starts for the Twins, including his major league debut June 27 in Arizona. He was 1-1 with a 10.80 ERA (10.0 IP, 12 ER), one walk and eight strikeouts in 10 innings for Minnesota.
