Turkiye May 2024: Fiat sinks, Renault Clio takes the lead, Togg T10X repeats at #2

The Togg T10X is the 2nd best-selling vehicle in Turkiye in May.

The Turkish new light vehicle market confirms its record streak is over with May sales down -9.9% year-on-year to 100,305. Thanks to a solid start of the year the year-to-date volume remains up at +6% to 471,743. The brands ranking is reshuffled this month with Renault (+13.6%) ignoring the declining market to land in first place, with Volkswagen also up at +9.3% in 2nd position. Ford (-2.2%) also advances one spot on last month to #3. The big surprise is the very poor performance or usual leader Fiat (-53.2%) losing more than half its year-ago sales. Chery (+76.9%) continues to impress, equalling its ranking record at #5. Skoda (+50.9%) and Hyundai (+15.5%) also shine just as local EV brand Togg (+1252.9%) celebrates one year in market with a second share record in a row at 4.1% of its home market.

Over in the models ranking (passenger cars only), the Renault Clio takes the lead for the 2nd time this year after last February with 5.8% share while the Togg 10X remains at a record 2nd place with an all-time high 5.2% share. It now ranks #6 year-to-date vs. #9 over the Full Year 2023. The Renault Megane Sedan rallies back up 8 spots on April to #3, a ranking it also holds year-to-date. Outstanding performance of the Chery Tiggo 8 Pro at #4 with 3.8% share, distancing a freefalling Fiat Egea Sedan at #5. The VW Taigo surges to a record 7th place, just as the Honda City and VW Polo both gain 19 ranks on last month to #8 and #9 respectively.

Previous month: Turkiye April 2024: Record streak snapped with sales off -22.3%, Togg 10X up to #2

One year ago: Turkiye May 2023: Sales surge 70.9% to new record, local brand Togg lands
