Saturday’s high school roundup/scores: East Bridgewater captures baseball title with win over Norwell
Devon Blair and Jared Hardiman combined on a shutout, while Brody Lovell drove in one run and scored another as East Bridgewater (14-6) clinched the South Shore Sullivan baseball title with a 3-0 win over Norwell.
Jordan O’Malley hit a walk-off RBI single to deliver a 10-9 victory for Salem over Beverly in the Northeastern Conference.
In the Hockomock League, Cam Hasenfus went the distance and struck out nine while allowing four hits as King Philip blanked North Attleboro, 6-0.

Wakefield captured the Div. 4 state boys team title with 78.5, three points ahead of Middlesex League rival Burlington. Joseph Patt was a double-winner for Wakefield, winning the pentathlon (3,268 points) and the javelin (171-01). The Warriors also captured the 4×800 relay as the quartet of Ethan Mezikofsky, Oliver Polster, William Mezikofsky and Liam Taggart navigated the course in a winning time of 8:07.41.
On the girls side, Nashoba posted a winning score of 68.5, outdistancing runner-up Holliston (60). Caroline Collins was an individual standout for Nashoba, winning both the mile (5:01.64) and 2-mile (10:51.97). Nashoba was also superb in the relays, capturing both the 4×400 (4:04.59) and 4×800 (9:48.34). Pembroke’s Sarah Claflin won the 200 meters (24.39) and 100 meters (11.82).
Softball
In a nonleague matchup, Marissa Kelly finished 3-for-3 with a grand slam while Lauren Bernaiche allowed three hits and struck out 12 as Apponequet (17-4) blanked Bishop Stang, 6-0. … Abby Minasi recorded a pair of hits, including the game-winning hit, as Hanover (12-8) defeated Marshfield, 7-6 in nine innings.
Girls lacrosse
Emerson Pekarcik scored five goals and added an assist, while Bailey Lower chipped in with two goals and 10 assists as Nantucket defeated Martha’s Vineyard 18-3 in the Cape and Islands.
