Fore the kids
It was all for the kids as Red Sox legend David Ortiz and a who’s who of sports greats teed up for a cause at the Brae Burn Country Club in Newton Tuesday.
That’s where Big Papi hosted his annual golf tournament and casino night to benefit the David Ortiz Children’s Fund, a charity established by the slugger to raise funds for his foundation’s mission of providing lifesaving heart surgeries and care for children in New England and the Dominican Republic.
To date, the David Ortiz Children’s Fund has helped more than 16,000 children and provided 1,507 lifesaving cardiac surgeries.
