Najarian worked for the Patriots during the entirety of Bill Belichick’s tenure, handling day-to-day football operations and serving as Belichick’s personal assistant. As detailed in the team’s 2023 media guide: “Najarian manages several elements of head coach Bill Belichick’s off-field agenda, including football and stadium operations, player and staff communication, scheduling and personal requests. In addition, Najarian manages various special projects in coaching and player personnel.”
Najarian has 29 years of NFL experience, including five he spent in the Jets’ public relations department during the late ’90s. Belichick brought Najarian with him to New England in 2000. He earned his most recent title in 2005, and his duties expanded to include some aspects of media relations and music selection at practice.
Belichick mentioned Najarian in his farewell press conference last month.
“Special thanks to Berj and (director of scouting administration) Nancy (Meier). They’ve been here since day one and made my life a lot easier. Or, I’ve made theirs a lot harder, however you look at it,” Belichick said. “But, big shout-out to them.”
Najarian reunites with former Patriots offensive coordinator Bill O’Brien, who last month was hired as Boston College’s new head coach.
