Case against Milan Lucic dropped, he seeks return to Bruins
The domestic assault case against Milan Lucic has been dropped.
The Bruins left-winger was set to go for trial today, but a motion to use the 911 recording of the alleged victim was denied by the judge, leaving the prosecution with no case. The alleged victim also refused to testify.
Outside court in Boston, Lucic’s attorney Gary Pelletier said the veteran player is “looking forward to getting his life back” and working with NHL to return to the team.
Lucic has been on “an indefinite leave of absence” after he was reportedly arrested following an alleged incident of domestic violence in November.
He was charged with assault and battery on a household member after an alleged incident in his Boston home, police reported.
Lucic, 35, spent his first 8 seasons with the Bruins before returning to the club this season after 8 seasons playing for LA, Edmonton and Calgary.
This is a developing story …
