A woman was shot in the foot and a teenage boy was critically injured when he was shot in the stomach in two separate St. Paul shootings early Saturday morning, according to police.

The first shooting occurred shortly after 1 a.m. near north Western Avenue and Topping Street, said St. Paul police Sgt. Mike Ernster. When police arrived, they found a teenage boy with a gunshot wound to his abdomen. He was taken to Regions Hospital with life-threatening injuries and reported to be in stable condition Saturday afternoon.

Police are investigating the circumstances of the shooting and no arrests have been made as of Saturday.

A second shooting occurred downtown just before 2 a.m. in the 300 block of Wabasha Street in front of the Gray Duck Tavern, according to Ernster.

Officers found evidence of a shooting outside the tavern, but did not find a victim or the shooter. Not long after, a female arrived at Fairview Riverside hospital in Minneapolis with a gunshot wound to her foot.

The woman said she had been shot on Wabasha Street in St. Paul, Ernster said. St. Paul police questioned her and are investigating the shooting.
