Poland January 2024: Toyota at 23.1% share, BMW (+55.7%), Hyundai (+44.2%) stand out in surging market

BMW is up to 5th place in the Polish brands ranking this month.

The Polish new car market is up a splendid 22.5% year-on-year in January to 42,109. Toyota (+23.2%) manages its second best ever share at 23.1%, only surpassed by the 24.3% reached last August. Skoda (+11.4%) and Kia (+16.1%) are soft unlike Hyundai (+44.2%), BMW (+55.7%) and Audi (+26.4%). At #5, BMW reaches its best ranking since December 2022 (#4). Mercedes (+42.8%), Volvo (+41.5%), Renault (+39.5%), Lexus (+34.5%) and Peugeot (+30%) all beat the market while Cupra ranks at #13.

The Toyota Corolla (+77.9%) shoots up to 7.3% share, almost double any other nameplate in the market. Toyota monopolises the podium with the Yaris Cross (-8.9%) at #2 and the Yaris (+4%) at #3. The Skoda Octavia (+120.9%) is the best of the rest above the Kia Sportage (+66.4%) and Hyundai Tucson (+135%) all roaring ahead. The Cupra Formentor (+170.7%) is up to an excellent 9th place with 2% share while the Renault Captur (+152.3%) is up 19 spots on December to #10. The Toyota C-HR (+102%) and RAV4 (+33.2%) make it 5 Toyotas in the Top 8.
