The Toyota Yaris is estimated to rank #4 in Cyprus in August.

Data shared with us by our local partners SEMO Cyprus and INNOSOFT show a stable new car market in August at -0.1% year-on-year to 712 units. This leads to a year-to-date tally off -10.1% to 9324. Toyota (+47.3%) spectacularly takes the lead of the brands charts with 15.3% share, its highest since December 2024. Kia (stable) can only muster half of the Japanese car’s volume to 7.6% share vs. 16% so far this year. Hyundai (-45.7%) is in total freefall YoY but up four spots on July to #3. BYD (+72.7%) and Audi (+68.4%) sport the biggest YoY gains in the Top 10.

Over in the models charts, the Hyundai Tucson (-2.9%) is the best seller like a year ago, and is followed by the Toyota Yaris Cross (-7.4%) and Kia Stonic (+140%), the latter comfortably holding onto the YTD top spot. The Toyota Yaris (+233.3%) is estimated to rank #4 ahead of the Peugeot 3008 (+37.5%) and Kia Sportage (-35.7%). The Renault Captur (+350%), Skoda Kamiq (+142.8%) and Volvo XC40 (+142.9%) all post fantastic YoY lifts.
