Vietnam July 2026: VinFast VF 3 returns to #1 in market up 26.1%

The VinFast VF 3 is the best-selling vehicle at home for the first time since February.

According to data by VAMA, Hyundai and VinFast, the Vietnamese new vehicle market shoots up 26.1% to 59,031 units, leading to a year-to-date volume up 28.6% to 387,849. Local EV maker VinFast (+89.7%) remains ultra dominant at 36.9% share, single-handedly pulling the market into positive territory. It is followed by Toyota (+3%) at 11.6% and Thaco-Kia (+3.1%) at 8.1%. Hyundai (-1.6%) struggles at #4 while Mitsubishi (-0.5%) rounds out the Top 5. Ford (-24.4%) and Honda (-18.6%) are both hit hard.

This month the VinFast VF 3 (+77.2%) reclaims the top spot in the models ranking for the first time since last February, toppling the new VinFast Limo Green, down to #3 for the month but still #1 year-to-date. Meanwhile the VinFast VF 5 / Herio Green (+72.7%) is also up one spot on June to #2. The VinFast Minio Green ranks #4 ahead of the VinFast VF 6 (+4.8%), making the Top 5 100% VinFast for the 5th time in the past 6 months. The Toyota Yaris Cross (+41.5%) is the best of the rest at #6.
