Astros firman a Christian Vázquez con contrato de ligas menores y lo invitan a los entrenamientos
WEST PALM BEACH, Florida, EE.UU. (AP) — Los Astros de Houston firmaron al receptor veterano puertorriqueño Christian Vázquez con un contrato de ligas menores y lo invitaron a los entrenamientos de primavera, informó el equipo el sábado.
El pelotero de 35 años regresa a los Astros por primera vez desde que formó parte del equipo que ganó la Serie Mundial en 2022. También conquistó un título con los Medias Rojas en 2018.
Vázquez pasó los últimos tres años con los Mellizos, pero tuvo dificultades a la ofensiva la temporada pasada, al batear para .189 con tres jonrones y 14 carreras impulsadas. Su mejor campaña fue en 2019, cuando bateó para .276 con un récord personal de 23 jonrones y 72 carreras impulsadas.
Vázquez está disputando en este momento el Clásico Mundial con Puerto Rico.
