DA suspects ‘foul play’ after human remains discovered in Shirley
Human remains have been uncovered in Shirley and investigators suspect “foul play.”
A group of young people found the body part while walking in the area around the Maritime Veterans Memorial Bridge around 5:30 p.m. Wednesday, according to the Middlesex District Attorney’s Office.
When police arrived on the scene they were able to confirm that what was seen by the group in the water was human remains.
“Based upon the preliminary information, foul play is suspected,” the DA said in a statement.
The Office said they are working with the Shirley Police, and the Mass State Police to investigate.
“The public should expect to see an increased police presence in the area… as the investigation continues,” the statement said.
