Max Scherzer y Azulejos llegan a acuerdo por 1 año y 3 millones, dice fuente a la AP

NUEVA YORK (AP) — Max Scherzer regresa a los Azulejos de Toronto.
El as galardonado en tres ocasiones con el Cy Young llegó a un acuerdo con los actuales campeones de la Liga Americana, por un año y 3 millones de dólares, dijo a The Associated Press a primera hora del jueves una persona familiarizada con las negociaciones.
La fuente habló con la AP bajo condición de anonimato porque el acuerdo estaba sujeto a que Scherzer superara el examen médico y aún no se había anunciado.
Scherzer, de 41 años, puede ganar otros 10 millones de dólares en bonificaciones por rendimiento.
El lanzador tuvo una marca de 5-5 con una efectividad de 5,19 en 17 aperturas y 85 entradas con los Azulejos la temporada pasada, su 18ª en las Grandes Ligas. Firmó un contrato de un año y 15,5 millones de dólares con Toronto en febrero de 2025.
