Boston Police Blotter: Suspected vandals arrested mid-blizzard

Boston Police arrested two men for allegedly tagging a building in Southie in the middle of the snowstorm.

Officers responded to a building on West Second St. around 12:06 a.m. Monday for a report of vandalism. Police said they saw two individuals walking in the area. With “limited foot traffic at the time,” because of the blizzard conditions, BPD said officers stopped the men, Anders Hubbard, 24, of Braintree, and Elton Ernest, 23, of Somerville.

Hubbard had paint splatter on his jacket and appeared to be clutching something in his pocket that turned out to be a can of spray paint, police said. A search of Hubbard and Ernest revealed another can of spray paint, two paint cans, and three paint pens.

Both individuals were charged with tagging property and are expected to be arraigned in South Boston District Court.
