High school roundup/scores: Shy Babb’s buzzer-beater lifts Lynn Classical to GBL title

Shy Babb drained a 3-pointer at the buzzer to lift Lynn Classical to a 67-65 win over Chelsea and secure the Greater Boston League boys basketball title.

Luca Palermo (21 points, 10 rebounds, two assists), Alexander Echevarria (16 points, four rebounds, three assists, two steals) and CJ Farrell (12 points, 10 rebounds, five assists, two steals) finished in double figures for St. Mark’s in a 68-57 ISL win over St. Sebastian’s.

Thomas Edwards erupted for 35 points, and Doug Ateku added 16 points as Avon (12-6) took down South Shore Voke 77-48 in the Mayflower Athletic Conference. … Micah Crawford (15 points, three rebounds, steal) and Edward Nyasembi (14 points, five rebounds, two steals) paced Prospect Hill to a 47-31 win over Boston Prep in the Massachusetts Charter School Athletic Organization Tournament quarterfinals.

Andy Batista scored his 1,000th point for Lynn Tech (11-5) in an 84-63 Commonwealth Athletic Conference victory over Whittier.

Girls basketball

Shauna O’Brien scored 18 points, grabbed four rebounds and came away with three steals as Pingree defeated Concord Academy 43-39 in NEPSAC action.

Boys hockey

Cam MacPherson tallied his 100th career point for St. Mark’s during a 6-0 ISL win over Brooks.

Sammy Ryan, Sophia Barbosa, Sarah Marano and Ella Duffy found the net for Methuen/Tewksbury (16-0-2), which clinched the Merrimack Valley Conference/Dual County League title with a 4-1 win over Shrewsbury.

Mack Bryda scored the lone goal for Bishop Feehan (12-7) in a 1-0 Catholic Central League win over Arlington Catholic.
