Pitbull will headline Mystic Lake Amphitheater in September with Lil Jon
Rapper Pitbull — aka Mr. Worldwide — is the latest act added to the slate of concerts at the new Mystic Lake Amphitheater in Shakopee.
Tickets for his Sept. 26 show go on sale at 10 a.m. Jan. 30 through Ticketmaster. Those who register at livemu.sc/pitbull by 10 p.m. Jan. 26 have access to a presale. Atlanta hip hop star Lil Jon, who has collaborated with Pitbull numerous times over the years, will open.
Born Armando Perez to Cuban immigrants, the 45-year-old Pitbull began recording in 2004, but his career didn’t truly take off until 2008’s “Krazy,” the first of a string of hits that include “I Know You Want Me (Calle Ocho),” “Hey Baby (Drop it to the Floor),” “Don’t Stop the Party,” “Feel This Moment,” “Timber” and “Time of Our Lives.”
He’s also a popular guest artist and has collaborated with Usher (“DJ Got Us Fallin’ in Love”), Jennifer Lopez (“On the Floor,” “Dance Again,” “Booty”) and Enrique Iglesias (“I Like It”).
Pitbull has grossed more than $250 million and sold more than 4.7 million tickets globally throughout his career. He released his most recent album, “Trackhouse,” in 2023.
In the time since he performed at his first of two KDWB Jingle Balls in 2009, Pitbull has played Target Center and the former Xcel Energy Center with Iglesias and headlined Mystic Amphitheater (the outdoor venue at Mystic Lake Casino), Twin Cities Summer Jam 2019 and the Minnesota State Fair Grandstand. In 2024, he returned to the X for a show with Ricky Martin and Iglesias.
