Police Blotter: One injured after car crashes into Raynham home
A car crashed into a home in Raynham after its elderly driver had a medical emergency Tuesday afternoon.
Raynham Police and Fire responded to the vehicle crash at 1577 Broadway around 12:51 p.m.
When they arrived, they saw that a sedan had hit the lower brick portion of the home, “causing significant damage,” a statement from the police department said.
The statement said that an older man from Rhode Island was driving the sedan when he had a medical episode, veered off the roadway, crossed the lawn, and struck the home. He was taken to Boston Medical Center South in Brockton with non-life threatening injuries.
Although people were in the home during the crash, no one inside was injured.
The town’s building department also responded to the home to assess the structure for damage. Raynham PD said that the crash is still under investigation.
