As Jeep enters Grasso’s Garage, it is always a mystery what parent company Stellantis is cooking up in the background. This week, it is the Jeep Grand Cherokee, Jeep’s 5-passenger, well-known SUV. Fit for many and designed to accommodate all types of consumers, the Grand Cherokee is ready to hit the pavement with a fresh look.

Packed with a 3.6-liter V6 Pentastar Engine boasting 293 horsepower and 260 lb-ft of torque, the Jeep Grand Cherokee was paired nicely with an 8-speed automatic transmission and was powerful enough with plenty of get-up-and-go. Although it sipped the gas smoothly, it was a nice and comfortable ride with plenty of external appeal. Our weeklong tester was wrapped in Velvet Red Pearl paint, deep and rich in style.

Key items utilized on our test were the Uconnect 5 with Navigation and a 10.1-inch touchscreen infotainment system, which was extremely easy to use and simple for all levels of technology. Our Limited 4×4 model also added a trailer towing package and luxury technology group upgrades, featuring ventilated seats, a surround-view camera and manual second-row window shades. The black exterior package also shined with its 20-inch gloss-black painted wheels and gloss-black exterior accents – a nice flair and one that is becoming popular in today’s automobiles.

Jeep satisfies your typical consumer who is looking for a usable SUV with a decent price point. Their historical trend of off-road vehicles, such as the Wrangler and Gladiator, are pricey, driving consumers to other brands or other Jeep models and keeping the Grand Cherokee top of mind for consumers. Keeping the Uconnect infotainment system in play is also a win for the Stellantis brand with its extremely simplistic useability, which really hits home for many. All of this on top of a realistic base price point: It’s no secret why you see so many Grand Cherokees on the road.
