Police Blotter: New to the Green Line, a $70K Corvette Stingray on the tracks

Transit Police are seeking criminal charges against a 20-year-old driver whose Corvette Stingray ended up on Green Line tracks running along Beacon Street at Marion Street in Brookline.

The unidentified driver allegedly told the police that he was unfamiliar with the area when he drove his Stingray, a sports car whose base price is around $70,000 and quickly grows from there, onto the tracks a little before 5 p.m. Wednesday. Police determined the vehicle was unregistered and uninsured and that the driver was unlicensed. The car was removed by an MBTA tow truck. Police say they will be seeking criminal charges against the driver.

3 indicted on Cape for human trafficking

Three people were indicted for unrelated human trafficking activity on Cape Cod.

The indictment of Ionut Stamatin, 24, of Falmouth, on Wednesday was the third time this month that a Barnstable County grand jury returned indictments charging a person with human trafficking. Earlier in the month similar indictments were returned against Luca Aguilar, 20, of Brewster, and Rina Althany Hernadez Alcantara, 38.

The three cases are separate and unrelated.

Aguilar faces six charges related to trafficking people for sexual servitude, child pornography, and attempted child rape based on information Barnstable police received in April 2025. He is accused of trading marijuana and vapes for sex with a 15-year-old girl, as well as engaging in sex and soliciting nude images of other minors, one 13 and the other 14 years old.

Hernadez is charged with trafficking another woman for sex based on activity allegedly witnessed in a parking lot by a Yarmouth Police officer on Sept. 11. Police say that Hernadez was driving a car with a female passenger. The officer saw the vehicle park in the lot and then saw another vehicle with a male driver pull up. The female passenger exited the first car and got into the second, after which the windows “began to fog,” according to the Barnstable District Attorney’s office. The female then got out of the vehicle, adjusted her clothing and got back into the first car.

Stamatin faces charges related to engaging in prostitution and attempted rape of a child. Massachusetts State Police say that he attempted to set up a paid sex date with a 15-year-old girl in Falmouth but was actually communicating with undercover troopers. Police say that when they arrested him on Oct. 1 they found $170 cash and 10 condoms on him.

Incident Summary

BPD responded to 257 incidents in the 24-hour period ending at 10 a.m. Sunday, according to the department’s incident log. Those included arrests for two robberies, four aggravated assaults, two larcenies from a vehicle, 18 miscellaneous larcenies, and one auto theft.
