Patriots get bad news on Monday’s projected injury report
The Patriots’ injury report is lengthy the day after Sunday’s win over the Buccaneers.
Listed among 15 players on Monday’s injury report, which is projected, since the Patriots only held a walk-through, is tight end Austin Hooper with a concussion.
Hooper’s head injury was not announced during Sunday’s game. He’ll likely miss Thursday’s game against the Jets, leaving the Patriots thin at tight end.

Hunter Henry is the only other tight end on the 53-man roster. Fullback Jack Westover is also a converted tight end. The Patriots have two tight ends, Thomas Odukoya and CJ Dippre, on their practice squad. Odukoya, who played under Mike Vrabel with the Titans, is the more experienced player, but the Patriots would have to sign him to the 53-man roster in order for him to be active for Thursday’s game, since he’s an international pathway program player. Dippre, an undrafted rookie, could be elevated from the practice squad.
Here’s the Patriots’ full injury report:
DID NOT PARTICIPATE
TE Austin Hooper, Concussion
LIMITED PARTICIPATION
DT Christian Barmore, Back
WR Kayshon Boutte, Hamstring
C Garrett Bradbury, Hip
K’Lavon Chaisson, Ankle
LB Christian Elliss, Hip
DL Joshua Farmer, Ankle
LB Jack Gibbens, Hamstring
S Jaylinn Hawkins, Shoulder
RB TreVeyon Henderson, Knee
RB Terrell Jennings, Knee
CB Marcus Jones, Elbow
LB Marte Mapu, Neck
RB Rhamondre Stevenson, Toe
CB Charles Woods, Foot
The fact that Boutte, Elliss and Stevenson are listed as limited is promising. All three players missed Sunday’s game against the Buccaneers and did not participate in practice at all last week.
The injuries to Barmore, Chaisson, Gibbens, Hawkins, Henderson, Jennings, Jones and Woods are new coming out of Week 10.
With Henderson, Jennings and Stevenson all on the injury report, the Patriots might need to elevate depth off the practice squad a running back. D’Ernest Johnson has already been elevated in two straight weeks. The Patriots also have rookie Rushawn Baker on the practice squad.
