Editorial: Warren’s HHS dig an insult
We agree with President Donald Trump’s assessment of FEMA.
The Federal Emergency Management Agency needs to be “remade” rather than dismantled, especially after the deadly flash flood along the Guadalupe River in Texas.
Yet, we vehemently disagree with Bay State Sen. Elizabeth Warren, who is calling for Homeland Security Secretary Kristi Noem to resign over the tragedy.
In the aftermath of the Texas floods, which have killed at least 129 people with 166 still missing, the administration has shifted away from its harsh rhetoric targeting the agency, NBC quoted Noem as saying on Sunday’s “Meet the Press.” FEMA has struggled to do its job under the weight of DC bureaucracy, but the need is still present.
As usual, Warren isn’t helping.
Attacking Noem is just another example of a Democrat spitting mad at anything this administration does.
“I don’t care what she thinks,” Noem added on NBC Sunday. We agree with that sentiment.
FEMA needs to be overhauled, and Liz Warren needs to go back to teaching one course at Harvard.
