Mattapan woman charged with stabbing in Dorchester, assaulting police
A 32-year-old Mattapan woman is under arrest after police say she stabbed another woman who was waiting for a bus in Dorchester.
Boston Police arrested Kimberly Murray-Moore Tuesday morning on charges of assault and battery with a dangerous weapon, assault and battery on a police officer and resisting arrest.
She was also subject to a warrant for assault with a dangerous weapon issued by Dorchester municipal court last week for a separate incident.
Police were dispatched to the area of Morton Street and Blue Hill Avenue at around 5:40 a.m. Tuesday for a report of a person stabbed. They found the victim suffering from a stab wound near the B-3 station on Rhodes Street.
She was transported to an area hospital for her injury, which was determined to be not life-threatening.
Police say that their initial investigation suggests that Murray-Moore approached the other woman, stabbed her and then fled toward Morton Street and Blue Hill Avenue.
Police say they found her at a gas station near that intersection and that she attempted to hide behind a parked vehicle to avoid detection. When officers approached, she “actively resisted and assaulted” two of them, striking one in the chest and one in the face, according to a BPD statement.
