Red Sox lineup: Roman Anthony starting again in right against Rays
Roman Anthony is back in the lineup again for his second big league game and will once again start in right field and bat fifth.
Anthony made his MLB debut during Monday’s series-opener against the Tampa Bay Rays, which the Red Sox lost 10-8 in 11 innings, and Tuesday the club will look to get back on track against a Rays club that has now won six of its last seven games.
Fellow rookies Carlos Narvaez, Marcelo Mayer and Kristian Campbell are all in the lineup as well, along with Abraham Toro, who is batting third and starting at first base.
Lucas Giolito (1-1, 6.42) will get the start for Boston against Tampa Bay’s Ryan Pepiot (3-5, 3.20). Giolito has endured a roller coaster season where he’s see-sawed between brilliant outings and disastrous ones. Giolito’s last start was among the latter, with the right-hander allowing seven earned runs over 1.2 innings of work.
